Joe Manchin Campaigns for Susan Collins in Maine
Former Senator Joe Manchin is campaigning in Maine to support Republican Senator Susan Collins in her bid for a sixth term.
Susan Collins is seeking a sixth term in the U.S. Senate during the 2026 midterm elections in Maine. The Republican senator faces a challenge from Democratic candidate Troy Jackson in a race viewed as critical for the balance of power in the Senate.
To support her reelection bid, former Senator Joe Manchin will campaign alongside Collins at an event in central Maine on Wednesday. Manchin, who served as a Democrat before becoming an independent, previously endorsed Collins and described her as "the soul of the Senate."
The Senate contest occurs alongside other contested gubernatorial and congressional races across the state, including voter outreach efforts in northern cities such as Presque Isle.
