Minnesota Voters Honor Victims of Federal Immigration Raids

Minnesota voters left memorial stickers for two citizens killed during federal immigration raids while casting ballots in the 2026 midterm elections.

Minnesota voters left 'I Voted' stickers at memorial sites for Alex Pretti and Renee Nicole Good during the midterm elections on November 3, 2026. Pretti, a nurse, and Good, a writer, were killed by federal immigration officials in January during Operation Metro Surge, a large-scale enforcement operation in the Minneapolis region.

The deaths occurred as part of a mass deportation campaign initiated by Donald Trump. The campaign became a central issue for voters during the current election cycle. Community groups that previously organized rapid response teams to prevent immigrant arrests shifted their focus toward the Senate, gubernatorial, and House elections.

Although the Trump administration threatened to deploy federal law enforcement to voting sites, no such officials were reported at polling locations in Minneapolis.
