Ukraine and Russia Launch Reciprocal Large-Scale Aerial Attacks

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine conducted one of its largest recent drone assaults on the Moscow region, targeting industrial and logistics infrastructure. The strikes caused fires at several facilities, including a major distribution center in Koledino and warehouses in Domodedovo and Voskresensk. Russian officials reported varying figures on the attack; the Moscow mayor stated 600 drones targeted the capital region with 201 destroyed, while the Russian defense ministry claimed a record 822 interceptions nationwide. Three people were wounded in the Moscow area, and three others were killed in the Rostov region.

Simultaneously, the Federal Government of Russia launched ballistic missiles and drones at Kyiv, Odesa, and the Kryvyi Rih regions. In Kyiv, the attacks caused explosions and fires across the city, prompting officials to warn that stocks of Patriot interceptor missiles are dwindling. A strike on the ArcelorMittal complex in Kryvyi Rih killed two people and suspended production. The Ukrainian Air Force also recorded strikes in Kremenchuk.

In a separate incident, a Spanish F18 fighter jet operating on NATO duties shot down a drone over Romania after it entered the airspace from Moldova. The interception occurred 24 kilometers north of Galati.
