Rajnath Singh Warns Pakistan of Larger Strikes Over Terrorism

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh warned Pakistan that India will launch a strike larger than previous operations if terrorist activities continue to originate from its soil.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh warned that India will launch a military strike larger than previous operations if further terrorist activities originate from Pakistan. Speaking at the Times Network National Defence Conclave 2026 in New Delhi, Singh stated that India's commitment to peace should not be mistaken for weakness and that strength and capability are essential to maintain peace.

Singh cited the 2016 Uri surgical strikes, the 2019 Balakot airstrikes, and the recent Operation Sindoor—which targeted hideouts in Pakistan following civilian deaths in Pahalgam—as evidence of India's decisive response to terrorism. He claimed that since 2014, the shelf life of most terrorists has dropped to less than one year.

Singh attributed this increase in national security confidence to defence reforms under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He noted that these reforms have shifted India toward a self-reliant and future-oriented defence ecosystem.
