Senate President Akpabio Predicts Tinubu Re-election in 2027
Senate President Godswill Akpabio asserts that President Bola Tinubu's economic reforms will secure him a second term in the 2027 general elections.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio declared his confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be re-elected for a second term in the 2027 general election. Speaking in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Akpabio stated that the All Progressives Congress possesses a record of unprecedented achievements to present to voters, specifically citing the reengineering of an economy that was previously in shambles.
Akpabio highlighted progress in security, agriculture, education, and fiscal policy. He noted that when Tinubu took office, 27 states were unable to pay salaries and pensions, but claimed that the current administration's thinking has changed that narrative. He asserted that Nigerians will separate the chaff from the grains during the next election to reward the administration's performance.
These remarks coincided with a visit from the Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions, TETfund, and NELfund, led by Senator Mohammed Muntari Dandutse. Dandutse commended the 10th Senate's legislative work on education and the impact of NELFund and TELFund on Nigerian parents. Akpabio concluded by defending the 10th National Assembly's progress and urging lawmakers to ignore social media criticism, which he characterized as garbage in, garbage out.
