Trump Photo May Reveal Secret East Potomac Park Plan

A photo posted by former press secretary Katie Zacharia allegedly shows a map of East Potomac Park on President Donald Trump's desk during a legal dispute.

A farewell photo shared by former White House press secretary Katie Zacharia may provide evidence in a federal lawsuit concerning the East Potomac Golf Links. The image, showing Zacharia and President Donald Trump at the Resolute Desk, contains a blurred map that observers and the advocacy group Save East Po identify as Hains Point and East Potomac Park.

The National Park Service is currently embroiled in a legal battle over the removal of trees at the site. While the administration has argued in court that no final redesign plan exists and that tree removal is based on a 2019 landscape report, critics claim the map on the president's desk suggests the overhaul is being directed by Trump himself.

U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes-Menendez recently issued a temporary block on further tree cutting at the park. Zacharia, who was dismissed from her role five days after starting, posted the photo alongside praise for the president, describing him as a "kind, wonderful, gracious, thoughtful, enthusiastic, and hardworking man."
