Muslim-Majority Nations Demand Gaza Aid and Condemn Houthi Attacks

Foreign ministers from Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Trkiye, and Saudi Arabia issued a joint statement on September 21, 2026, during the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly. The group called on Israel to fulfill commitments under the First Phase of a Comprehensive Plan, specifically demanding the rehabilitation of critical infrastructure and the safe delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The ministers emphasized a Road Map for the plan's Second Phase, which requires a full Israeli withdrawal and the deployment of an International Stabilization Force. While rejecting the forced displacement of Palestinians and condemning settlement expansion, the ministers commended the leadership of Donald J. Trump and the role of the United States in implementing the plan.

In a separate meeting on the sidelines of the assembly, the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, and Türkiye issued a second joint statement. This group strongly condemned recent Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia, affirming the Kingdom's right to defend its territory under international law. The ministers reaffirmed their support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the legitimate Yemeni Government.

Additionally, the four-nation group reiterated support for an independent Palestinian state based on 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital. They also called for the cessation of the flow of mercenaries and weapons into Sudan to protect that nation's institutions.
