Narendra Modi Praises flydubai Captain for Saving Passengers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a video call with flydubai Captain Smit Machchhar to commend his bravery during a recent aviation emergency. During the interaction, Modi described the captain as a "Veer Purush" and stated that his actions demonstrated the concept of 'ahimsa' on Gandhi Jayanti.

Captain Machchhar, an aviation veteran with 17 years of experience, recounted fighting for his own survival while making a final effort to open the aircraft door to allow passengers to escape as the plane went down. Modi noted that the captain's composure saved many lives and remarked that Indians are those willing to risk their lives to save others.

Modi also expressed gratitude to the government of Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates for their support of the captain. Machchhar is currently receiving medical attention and expressed confidence in a speedy recovery following the interaction.
