Bola Tinubu Appoints 26 Leaders to 10 Federal Agencies

Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed 26 individuals to the boards and leadership of 10 federal agencies and commissions on July 20 and 21, 2026. The appointments, announced by Special Adviser Bayo Onanuga, take immediate effect and are intended to strengthen governance across strategic institutions.

Among the most prominent appointments, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose was named Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency Governing Board. He is supported by non-executive directors Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta. Other leadership changes include Major General Junaid Bindawa as Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as Chairman of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, and Dr. Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission.

Additional changes were implemented at the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission, Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc, and the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation. Abba Abubakar Aliyu, the Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency, welcomed the new board members, stating the appointments would assist the agency in providing solar electricity to underserved rural communities.
