President Bola Tinubu Oversees Infrastructure Projects in Southeast and Abuja

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu oversaw the completion of the 107-kilometer Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, which the Federal Ministry of Works scheduled for reopening on March 31, 2026. The Igbo socio-cultural organization Ohanaeze Ndigbo characterized the project as a substantive infrastructural revolution that ended 24 years of hazardous conditions for road users in the Southeast. The organization noted the achievement would likely influence political decisions among the Ndigbo ahead of the 2027 elections, while simultaneously requesting additional funding for the Calabar-Abakakiliki-Benue-Abuja Super Highway and the Markudi-Nsukka-Nightmile-Enugu Expressway.

In Abuja, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike conducted inspections of various developments on March 25, 2026. Wike confirmed that the extension of Obafemi Awolowo Way is 100 percent complete and will be inaugurated during the president's third year in office. He also verified the completion of 10 bungalow housing units for staff at the Nigerian Law School in Bwari.

Wike attributed the pace of these developments to the president's support and insistence on timely delivery. While Arterial Road S1 in the Kaura District is expected to be finished within five months, Wike expressed dissatisfaction with the progress of a male student hostel at the law school, though the contractor promised delivery by November.
