Trump Directs DHS Agents to Search Voter Records

President Donald Trump has directed the Department of Homeland Security to deploy hundreds of federal agents to search state voter registration records for non-citizen voters. These agents are being reassigned from a fraud division that previously focused on immigration enforcement and national security threats. Training materials instruct the agents to cross-reference voter lists from all 50 states with federal immigration data and search state registration websites for voting histories.

This initiative follows administration claims that 250,000 non-citizens were on voter rolls across four states. However, subsequent data provided to leaders in Nevada showed only 185 potential non-citizens, a sharp decrease from an initial estimate of 16,000.

Parallel concerns regarding election integrity have emerged. A whistleblower alleged that a United States Postal Service computer system, created to comply with a Trump executive order on mail voting, was rushed into implementation and may jeopardize ballot delivery. Meanwhile, Governor Mark Gordon of Wyoming criticized the United States Department of Justice for deploying election monitors who used aggressive tactics during August primaries, including attempting to interview voters and examine voting machines.
