Gallup Poll Shows Widespread American Election Integrity Concerns

A recent poll by Gallup, Inc. reveals deep public skepticism regarding the integrity of the 2026 midterm elections. Nearly 70% of U.S. adults expressed concern that politicians might pressure election officials to alter results, while 57% worry about the improper handling, counting, or securing of ballots.

Systemic issues also weigh heavily on public perception, with nearly 80% of respondents citing gerrymandering as a primary concern. Public anxiety over ineligible voters is split along partisan lines; 53% of adults overall worry about this issue, though the concern is significantly higher among Republicans at 78% compared to 36% of Democrats.

These concerns align with legislative efforts by President Donald Trump, who proposed a voter ID bill aimed at preventing ineligible individuals from casting ballots. The bill remains stalled in the legislative process.
