Elon Musk Reactivates America PAC for 2026 Midterms

Elon Musk is reactivating America PAC, a super PAC that spent over $260 million during the 2024 presidential cycle, to support Republicans in the 2026 midterm elections. The organization has been authorized to spend between $100 million and $120 million on a large-scale get-out-the-vote operation. This effort focuses on motivating conservative voters who typically abstain during non-presidential years through door-knocking, digital advertising, and direct mail campaigns.

The operation targets at least eight states, specifically focusing on Senate races in Alaska, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, and Ohio, with potential activity in North Carolina, Georgia, and Texas. It will also support House races in California, Washington, and Wisconsin. Since January 1, 2025, the PAC has spent $52.3 million, with Musk personally contributing more than $85 million toward the midterms overall.

This strategic return comes despite Musk's recent comments to The Economist that he had become "too involved in politics." The initiative aims to help Republicans maintain congressional majorities amid declining approval ratings for President Donald Trump and public dissatisfaction with the economy and the war with Iran. James Blair, a senior political adviser to Donald Trump, described the PAC's return as a "huge boost" for the party.
