APC Allies Mobilize Support for Tinubu 2027 Re-election Bid

Allies of Bola Ahmed Tinubu have launched a coordinated effort to secure his re-election in 2027, dismissing opposition coalitions as ineffective. In Kano, APC chieftain Faizu Alfindiki pledged 100 percent of the state's votes, while Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa launched the 'Ondo State for Tinubu 2027' group in Akure to mobilize grassroots support.

Supporters cite the Nigerian Education Loan Fund's N100 billion in grants and increased funding for the Ministry of Women Affairs as key drivers for voter loyalty. Former APC presidential aspirant Nicolas Felix predicted the president would secure at least 15 million votes, characterizing the African Democratic Congress-led opposition coalition as a party built on sand. This sentiment was echoed by Senator Mudashiru Husain, who described the coalition as a sinking ship of self-serving politicians.

The movement gained momentum with the defection of former Senate Minority Leader Abiodun Olujimi from the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC. Olujimi characterized the PDP as a sinking ship and argued that Peter Obi poses no threat to Tinubu, whom she described as a dyed-in-the-wool politician. Other supporters, including Kehinde Olaosebikan and former Governor Babangida Aliyu, argued that a second term is necessary for economic growth and national stability under the power rotation principle.

Amidst these endorsements, President Tinubu addressed the Progressives Digital Summit in Abuja, urging young Nigerians to verify information before amplifying it to combat disinformation in the digital space.
