Donald Trump Hosts Annual White House Halloween Celebration
President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump hosted the annual Halloween event at the White House following campaign rallies in South Carolina.
Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump hosted the annual White House Halloween celebration on the South Lawn on Thursday evening, October 29, 2026. The event featured an Air Force One flyover, music by the Air Force Strolling Strings, and a model full moon. The president and first lady distributed candy to children from foster, adoptive, law enforcement, and military families, with the president placing sweets directly into bags rather than on children's heads as he had in previous years.
Several government agencies participated in the festivities. The United States Postal Service provided toy trucks and a postcard station, the United States Department of Agriculture hosted a giant pumpkin photo opportunity, and the United States Department of the Treasury distributed coloring books to promote Trump Accounts. Administration officials, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, attended the hour-long event with their families.
The celebration took place shortly before the November 3 midterm elections. Earlier that day, the president campaigned in Rock Hill, South Carolina, for Republican Senator Darline Graham. Following the event, the president canceled scheduled weekend campaign rallies in Kansas and Iowa.
