Allies Launch Campaign for Ro Khanna as Rubio Denies Bid

Allies of Congressman Ro Khanna launched a support group for a 2028 presidential bid while Secretary of State Marco Rubio dismissed reports of his own candidacy.

Political activity has shifted toward the 2028 presidential race following the U.S. midterm elections. Allies of Ro Khanna, including strategist Nomiki Konst and former Congressman Jamaal Bowman, launched the Run Ro group to raise funds and build support for a potential candidacy. Khanna stated he will decide whether to run after the holidays, emphasizing the need for America’s Next New Deal.

Simultaneously, Secretary of State Marco Rubio dismissed media reports suggesting he might resign from the Trump administration to pursue the presidency. Rubio asserted that remaining in his post until the end of the term has "always been my plan."

In a separate effort to chart the future of the Democratic Party, a group of prominent Democrats, including Khanna and Pete Buttigieg, will meet in Denver from November 12 to 14. The gathering aims to discuss the party's direction and reshape its strategy moving forward.
