US Government Partners With NABEP to Boost Venezuelan Oil
North American Blue Energy Partners will increase Venezuelan oil production to 500,000 barrels daily by 2028 through a new equity partnership with the US government.
North American Blue Energy Partners plans to increase its crude oil production in Venezuela to 500,000 barrels a day by the end of 2028, rising from its current output of approximately 200,000 barrels. The company secured a 100-year concession to drill 17 fields containing an estimated 65 billion barrels of proved reserves.
To facilitate this expansion, the company entered a pact with the United States government, which now holds a 35% equity stake in the project. The Trump administration initiated the partnership to rapidly increase oil output and stabilize fuel prices following the Iran conflict, choosing to bypass larger firms such as ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips.
While the company previously funded its growth through internal cash flow, leadership expects the government partnership to attract outside investment to accelerate production. North American Blue Energy Partners is currently the second-largest private oil producer in Venezuela, trailing Chevron Corp.
