Democrats and Republicans Hold Rival Rallies Across Georgia

Democratic candidates Jon Ossoff and Keisha Lance Bottoms rallied supporters in Cobb County following a Republican event featuring Donald Trump in Dalton.

Democratic gubernatorial nominee Keisha Lance Bottoms and U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff held a joint rally for over 1,500 supporters at the Cobb Galleria Centre on Saturday, October 18. The event focused on the rising cost of living, with Ossoff attributing inflation in gas, groceries, and utilities to the economic policies of Donald Trump. Bottoms pledged to expand Medicaid as her first priority to lower medical costs and promised to pause new data center construction to address rising utility bills and declining property values.

The Democratic mobilization followed a Friday rally in Dalton where Donald Trump campaigned for Republican nominees Rick Jackson and Mike Collins. During that appearance, Trump described Ossoff as a "weak arrogant radical left Senator" and claimed Bottoms would "ruin" Georgia if elected governor. In response, Ossoff criticized Collins, alleging associations with white nationalists.

These events occur as early voting continues ahead of the November 3 general election, with over 500,000 ballots already cast. To further momentum, former President Barack Obama is scheduled to visit Atlanta on October 28 to headline the "United for Georgia Rally" in support of Ossoff and Bottoms before early in-person voting concludes on October 30.
