Donald Trump Claims US Crushed Iran Amid Regional Tensions

President Donald Trump claimed the United States crushed Iran while the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps threatened U.S. bases over shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

President Donald Trump stated that the United States has crushed Iran and indicated a desire to do so further. He accused Tehran of fabricating reports of attacks to artificially inflate oil prices ahead of the U.S. midterm elections.

Regional tensions escalated as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps threatened to target U.S. bases if commercial ships continue transiting the Strait of Hormuz, where an explosion was recently reported. In response to the diplomatic climate, U.S. Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz warned of a potential long-term stalemate with Iran, while Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf cautioned the U.S. against choosing a wrong path.

Simultaneously, the Saudi-led coalition intercepted a Houthi ballistic missile targeting Riyadh and destroyed two drones in the southern region. Saudi forces subsequently conducted airstrikes against a water authority building in Yemen's Al Jawf province.
