Iran Launches Missile Attack on Emirati ADNOC Tanker

Iran launched a missile attack on an Abu Dhabi National Oil Company tanker in the Strait of Hormuz, drawing sharp condemnation from Qatar.

Iran launched a missile attack on an Emirati tanker affiliated with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company while the vessel was transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The attack targeted property of the United Arab Emirates in one of the world's most critical maritime chokepoints.

The Government of Qatar strongly condemned the strike, describing it as a flagrant violation of international law and a breach of UN Security Council Resolution 2817. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar rejected the use of the strait as a bargaining chip or means of pressure.

Qatar called for the unconditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to protect regional interests and the global economy. The Qatari government expressed full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and stated its support for all measures the UAE takes to safeguard its property.
