Sergio Gor Denies Reports of Senior Administration Promotion

U.S. Ambassador to India Sergio Gor dismissed reports that he is being considered for a senior White House or State Department role following midterm elections.

Reports from The Washington Sun suggest that Sergio Gor, the U.S. Ambassador to India, is being considered for a senior promotion within the Trump administration following Republican losses in the midterm elections. Internal sources indicate Gor is a candidate for high-level positions, including White House Chief of Staff, Secretary of State, or Deputy Secretary of State, and has allegedly been laying the groundwork for a more forward-facing role.

Gor has vehemently denied these claims, calling the speculation "complete and total bullshit" and stating he has "zero interest in any other role." He further defended Secretary of State Marco Rubio, describing him as "irreplaceable" and the "greatest secretary of state in history."

White House and State Department officials have also dismissed the reports as baseless rumors. While some reports suggested potential vacancies due to Marco Rubio preparing for a future presidential run or the vulnerability of Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Deputy Secretary of State Chris Landau has denied intentions to leave his post despite reports he would exit if Republicans lost Congress.
