Zelenskyy Plans Meeting With Trump to Discuss Energy Truce

Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump in New York between September 21 and 23. The proposed meeting, which may occur on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, will focus on a maritime and energy truce.

Zelenskyy stated he is "open to a corresponding maritime plus energy truce" and intends to discuss the proposal with Trump. Beyond the truce, the Ukrainian president previously indicated he wants to secure anti-ballistic protection for Ukraine.

Heorhiy Tykhyi, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, confirmed that contacts between the two presidents will take place. The specific timing and location of the meeting remain subject to final confirmation.
