Chinese Ambassador Urges India to View Beijing as Partner

Chinese Ambassador to India Xu Feihong urged China and India to view each other as partners and development opportunities rather than rivals or threats. Speaking at a reception in New Delhi to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Xu emphasized the necessity of a long-term approach and a correct strategic perception regarding bilateral ties.

Xu highlighted the economic connection between the two nations, noting that bilateral trade reached 91.7 billion USD in the first half of the year, representing a 23.6 percent year-on-year increase. He stated that Beijing remains committed to a dual-track approach to manage border issues while maintaining peace.

The ambassador also referenced a recent consensus between President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the 18th BRICS Summit. The two leaders agreed to place bilateral relations on a sound and stable track.
