Israel Arrests 200 Palestinians Following Violence in Tell

The Israeli army arrested more than 200 Palestinians across the occupied West Bank over the final week of July 2026. This expanded military operation, ordered by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz, followed a violent incident in the town of Tell near Nablus that left four Palestinians and two Israelis dead and resulted in the burning of Palestinian property.

On July 31, Israeli forces conducted raids across Nablus, Hebron, Bethlehem, Ramallah, and Tulkarm, arresting 14 Palestinians. In a separate operation that day, Israeli forces and colonists raided the town of Al-Juneid and surrounding areas west of Nablus. During these clashes, soldiers used live ammunition, stun grenades, and tear gas, leaving 11 Palestinians injured. One man was shot in the abdomen, while others, including children, suffered from tear gas inhalation. The raids also extended to the Ameriya area and the town of Tell.

The Israeli army reported seizing weapons, a drone, and funds allegedly intended for terrorism. In response, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry accused Israeli officials of employing "genocidal rhetoric and incitement" to leverage the Tell incident for electoral gain.
