Russia Lifts Diesel Export Bans After Trump-Putin Deal
The Russian government partially lifted diesel fuel export restrictions following an agreement between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump to supply global markets.
The Federal Government of Russia partially lifted restrictions on diesel fuel exports on October 10, 2026. The move follows a direct agreement between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump to ensure the supply of diesel fuel to the United States and broader global markets.
Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia faces no difficulty exporting the fuel because global demand is enormous. He attributed this high demand to a significant shortage of petroleum products currently affecting the market.
Peskov further noted that because distribution is managed through traders, direct requests for fuel supplies are unnecessary.
