Russian Missiles Strike Kyiv and Lviv as Poland Scrambles Jets

Russian ballistic missiles struck Kyiv and Lviv early Thursday morning, killing at least one person in the capital and injuring six others in Lviv, where two apartment buildings were damaged. The attacks triggered a security response in Poland, where the military scrambled fighter jets, deployed early-warning aircraft, and placed ground-based air defense systems on alert. Air raid sirens sounded in Lublin after the Government Security Center issued a threat alert regarding potential missile incursions into Polish airspace.

Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the protection of citizens depends on the willingness of partners to provide air defense missiles. He noted that U.S. President Donald Trump agreed to provide licenses for Patriot missiles to bolster Ukrainian defenses.

Simultaneously, Ukrainian forces conducted drone strikes against Russian territory, targeting a Wildberries warehouse in Penza. The attack sparked a fire that forced the evacuation of approximately 200 people.
