Donald Trump Urges Israelis to Re-elect Benjamin Netanyahu

President Donald Trump endorsed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of Tuesday's election, arguing that only Netanyahu can finish the military campaign against Iran.

President Donald Trump renewed his endorsement of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday, urging Israeli voters to re-elect him in Tuesday's election to finish the job against Iran. In posts on Truth Social, Trump described Netanyahu as an outstanding Warrior Prime Minister and credited their partnership for the success of Operation Midnight Hammer and Operation Epic Fury. He claimed these operations left Iran with no navy or air force and an inflation rate of 301%.

Trump warned that if any leader other than Netanyahu were elected, the United States would have to confront Iran alone, a task he stated he is not inclined to do. This public intervention departs from the traditional U.S. presidential norm of avoiding interference in the elections of allied nations and follows months of reported tension between the two leaders over the pace of victory against Tehran.

Netanyahu responded with a video thanking Trump and linking the removal of the Iranian regime to a decrease in American gas prices. While the Likud party denied reports that the Prime Minister privately pressured Trump for this support, reports indicate Netanyahu spoke with Trump twice in three days to request the reinforced endorsement. The endorsement comes as final polls suggest neither the Netanyahu coalition nor the opposition holds a clear majority in the 120-seat parliament.
