NATO Commander Urges Ukraine Aid as Trump Announces Energy Ceasefire
General Alexus Grynkewich called for increased European support for Ukraine while President Donald Trump announced a Russia-Ukraine energy ceasefire.
General Alexus Grynkewich, the Supreme Allied Commander Europe, urged European nations to increase support for Ukraine to deter Russian hybrid attacks, including cyberattacks, sabotage, and airspace incursions. Speaking at the Warsaw Security Forum in Poland, Grynkewich argued that increased aid demonstrates to Russia that its objectives are unobtainable.
Grynkewich is currently presenting a theory of victory plan to NATO allies. The strategy utilizes AI, drones, and F-35 fighter jets to outline how the alliance would defeat Russia in the event of an invasion of NATO territory. He also called on European nations to help keep the Strait of Hormuz open to ensure fuel availability for defensive operations and to lower fuel prices that currently hinder military modernization.
Simultaneously, President Donald Trump announced that Russia and Ukraine have agreed to an immediate energy ceasefire. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed support for the agreement, provided that Russia adheres to the terms. These diplomatic efforts occur as European governments, including those of Germany and Denmark, have increased their support for Ukraine following hybrid attacks, with Germany officially blaming Russia for a drone attack at Leipzig airport.
