Russian Drone Strike Kills 13 at Dnipro Railway Station

A Russian jet-powered drone killed at least 13 people at a Dnipro train station while a localized ceasefire held in Oleshky.

A Russian jet-powered drone struck a train platform at the main railway station in Dnipro, Ukraine, on Thursday morning, killing at least 13 people. The attack targeted passenger trains, including Train No. 866 bound for Zaporizhzhia, while passengers were boarding despite active air-raid alarms. Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the strike as a "horrific attack." Other Russian strikes on the same day caused casualties in Chernihiv, Kremenchuk, and the Zaporizhzhia region.

Simultaneously, a localized six-day ceasefire has held for over 50 hours around the Russian-occupied town of Oleshky to facilitate humanitarian aid for approximately 2,000 trapped civilians. The truce, reportedly brokered with assistance from U.S. First Lady Melania Trump and Pope Leo XIV, has been confirmed by ombudsmen from both nations. Dmytro Lubinets stated the ceasefire had been in place for 54 hours, while Yana Lantratova noted that both sides are fully honoring their commitments.

In separate military developments, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed to have downed 1,214 Ukrainian drones during a massive overnight assault targeting Moscow and its surrounding areas. Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin praised Elon Musk as a "real genius" during discussions regarding orbiting activities.
