Bangladesh Leaders Hold High-Level Meetings at UN General Assembly

Bangladesh officials conducted a series of high-level diplomatic engagements in New York during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. Tarique Rahman, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Turkish House to discuss expanding trade and investment ties and diversifying economic cooperation.

Prime Minister Rahman also held discussions with leaders from Bhutan, the Maldives, and Haiti, as well as the President of the World Bank Group. These meetings focused on economic cooperation, climate action, and the repatriation of Rohingya refugees to Myanmar. He is scheduled to deliver his first address to the General Assembly on September 24.

Simultaneously, Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman, serving as the President of the 81st UN General Assembly, exchanged greetings with U.S. President Donald Trump. The interaction occurred after President Trump delivered his address to the assembly, during which he thanked Dr. Khalilur.
