Putin and Pashinyan Attend CIS Summit in Turkmenistan

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan arrived in Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan, on Thursday for a two-day working visit. The leaders are attending the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) summit and the Caspian Sea summit near the Avaza National Tourist Zone.

The CIS Heads of State Council is meeting to set priorities for joint efforts in foreign policy coordination, information technology, and law enforcement. In addition to the multilateral sessions, Putin is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Thursday and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Friday. He will also meet with leaders from Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan to discuss practical cooperation and environmental protection in the Caspian region.

Simultaneously, Nikol Pashinyan met with President Berdimuhamedov to discuss the expansion of bilateral relations between Armenia and Turkmenistan. The two leaders focused on deepening political, trade, and economic ties, with Berdimuhamedov emphasizing the importance of expanding cooperation across various sectors.
