Trump War Fails to Shorten Iran Nuclear Timeline

Donald Trump launched a military campaign against Iran on February 28, 2026, to prevent the country from acquiring nuclear weapons. Despite these actions and prior strikes, U.S. intelligence assessments indicate that Iran remains approximately nine to 12 months away from producing a nuclear weapon. Iran continues to block traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, obstructing roughly 20 percent of global oil supplies and triggering an energy crisis. The U.S. and Israel maintain that the total removal of enriched uranium and the cessation of enrichment are non-negotiable requirements for any diplomatic resolution.
