Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Expands AI and Robotics Ties in Korea

Jensen Huang visited South Korea to announce new business lines and a research center while strengthening AI and robotics partnerships with major conglomerates.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang conducted a strategic diplomatic tour of South Korea starting June 5, 2026, to deepen ties with critical AI and robotics partners. The visit followed a series of preparatory meetings during the Computex trade show in Taipei, where Huang hosted a Korean Partner Night and met with SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won to discuss AI memory and infrastructure.

In Seoul, Huang hosted a high-profile dinner in the Hongdae neighborhood with the chairpersons of SK Group, LG Group, and Naver. During the visit, he announced the introduction of four new business lines—Vera Rubin, Vera, RTX Spark, and Jetson Thor—and confirmed the development of a prominent research center in South Korea. He also indicated that a manufacturing site could be built once sufficient staffing is secured.

Beyond semiconductors, the visit focused on physical AI and robotics. Huang is coordinating with Hyundai Motor Company and the South Korean government to finalize an AI technology center at the Saemangeum reclamation project. He also met with leadership from Krafton and NC Corp, as well as AI startups.

To bolster the company's public profile, Huang appeared on the talk show "You Quiz on the Block," visited esports legend Faker at the T1 Base Camp, and threw a ceremonial first pitch for the Doosan Bears. These efforts align with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung's goal to establish the nation as a top three global AI superpower, leveraging the dominance of Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix in the high-bandwidth memory market.
