During the event, Trump defended his use of tariffs, claiming they have encouraged foreign companies to move manufacturing to the United States. He asserted that $19.2 trillion is being invested in the U.S. and described tariffs as his favorite word, stating they have "made us rich as hell."

Trump also discussed a proposed military-ballroom complex at the White House, which the Supreme Court of the United States recently allowed to proceed. He stated the new facility would feature bulletproof glass and protection against drones and missiles to better accommodate visiting delegations than the current East Room.
