Some White House aides have opposed the campaign, citing concerns that strikes on energy targets could drive up global energy costs and destabilize financial markets.
In response, an Iranian official described the reports as "reckless." The official stated that Iran has a comprehensive plan to retaliate by targeting critical infrastructure belonging to the United States and Israel within the region.
