Rahul Gandhi Demands Sacking of Election Chief Amid Rally Dispute

Rahul Gandhi demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi sack Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar after Delhi traders requested the postponement of a planned November 1 rally.

Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi remove Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on October 26. Gandhi labeled Kumar accused no. 4 in allegations of stolen votes, claiming that the protests would end immediately if the official were sacked.

The demand followed a request from the Chamber of Trade and Industry to postpone a planned November 1 rally at Ramlila Maidan. Traders led by Brijesh Goyal warned that the demonstration could disrupt 10,000 crore rupees in business during the peak Diwali shopping season.

Gandhi expressed solidarity with the traders but argued that the government caused the business disruptions by sealing roads and shutting metro services. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge stated the party would consult with INDIA bloc allies to determine if the rally should be postponed to accommodate the traders' concerns.
