Former Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon and alignment science lead Evan Hubinger have warned that AI labs are racing toward superintelligence without a clear plan to solve alignment, effectively gambling with human lives. While Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has called for a development slowdown and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has advocated for international, democratic decision-making, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has dismissed such views as alarmist, arguing that preventing bad AI is an engineering challenge.
