Trump Renames AI Super Intelligence and Rejects China Integration

President Donald Trump announced that the United States will rename artificial intelligence as super intelligence (SI) in official communications, describing the original term as poorly and inaccurately named. The announcement followed a summit in Washington between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, where the two nations agreed to establish a communication channel to manage technology-related incidents.

While the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China stated it respects the U.S. position and wording, the two leaders remain divided on the technology's risks and governance. Xi Jinping asserted that the technology must remain under human control, while Trump dismissed fears that it poses a threat to humanity.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump explicitly rejected integrating U.S. super intelligence initiatives with China. He argued that the United States maintains a significant lead in the field and claimed that Chinese efforts to integrate are intended to stop American progress. Trump emphasized that the U.S. intends to maintain its dominance and will not open its technology to China.
