White House Posts Satirical Valentine's Day Cards Mocking Opponents

The White House published a series of satirical digital Valentine's Day cards on social media on February 14, 2026, utilizing political memes and romantic puns to highlight administration actions. Donald Trump, Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino, and Deputy Communications Director Kaelan Dorr reportedly conceptualized the content, which a White House official stated "speaks the language of the people" and intentionally ignores "traditional norms of what’s acceptable in politics."

Several cards focused on foreign policy and captures, including an image of a blindfolded and handcuffed Nicolás Maduro with the caption "You captured my heart," referencing the former Venezuelan leader's capture in January and extradition to New York on drug trafficking charges. Another card featured a heart-shaped map of Greenland with the text "It’s time we define our situationship," referencing the president's interest in the Danish territory.

Other posts targeted political opponents and administration members. One card mocked Democrats' views on illegal immigration featuring Senator Chris Van Hollen, while another used a sombrero to mock Democratic leaders during a 43-day government shutdown. Within the administration, Secretary of State Marco Rubio appeared in a card poking fun at his expansive portfolio and another showing him appearing uncomfortable during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. also shared a thematic message regarding the removal of FDA warning labels from hormone-based drugs.
