Vladimir Putin Praises Narendra Modi's Ukraine Peace Efforts
Russian President Vladimir Putin praised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for proposing neutral, mutually acceptable solutions to end the conflict in Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin praised Narendra Modi for his efforts to end the conflict in Ukraine, stating that the Indian leader has good ideas for a mutually acceptable peaceful resolution. Speaking at the Valdai Discussion Club in the Moscow region on October 1, Putin characterized Modi's position as neutral and noted that he consistently raises the issue of ending the war despite the friendly personal and bilateral relations between the two leaders.
Modi has repeatedly advocated for dialogue and diplomacy, describing India's stance as principled and humanitarian. These peace efforts have been a recurring theme in recent high-level meetings, including the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi on September 11 and a meeting in Bishkek on August 31.
While pushing for a diplomatic settlement, India and Russia continue to expand bilateral cooperation in trade, energy, defense, and technology through the Programme for Economic Cooperation 2030.
