Ukraine and Russia Exchange Long-Range Missile Strikes

Russia and Ukraine exchanged deadly missile strikes on July 24, 2026, both targeting military-industrial assets. Russian missiles struck a weapons exhibition in the Kyiv region of Ukraine, killing at least six people and wounding dozens. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, condemned the attack as a violation of international norms and stated that the delivery of Patriot missiles remains a top priority to protect lives.

Simultaneously, the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck the Aviatek enterprise in Kirov, Russia. The facility produces surface-to-air missiles and components for Kh-101 and Kh-59M2 missiles. Kirov Region Governor Alexander Sokolov reported that the attack killed six people and injured 32 others, while causing local disruptions to electricity and water supplies.

The Kirov strike was executed using a Flamingo missile developed by the Ukrainian company Fire Point. Iryna Terekh, CEO of Fire Point, stated the attack demonstrates a flight range of 3,000 kilometers. She noted that this capability effectively removes the concept of a deep rear for the Russian military industry.
