Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey Condemn Israeli Gaza Attacks
Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey issued a joint statement condemning Israeli attacks in Gaza and calling on the Board of Peace to enforce ceasefire compliance.
The Government of Egypt, the Government of Qatar, and the Government of Turkey issued a joint statement on August 20, 2026, strongly condemning recent Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip. The mediating nations reported that the strikes killed and injured Palestinians, including women and children, with casualty reports varying between at least 10 and 16 deaths since Tuesday.
The mediators warned that the intensification of attacks undermines regional and international efforts to implement the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict. They demanded that the Government of Israel fully comply with ceasefire obligations and called upon the international community and the Board of Peace, led by Donald Trump, to exert pressure to ensure compliance.
Diplomatic tensions remain high as Hamas stated it would comply with a new roadmap for peace. However, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected the proposed sequencing of the plan, demanding that Hamas fully disarm before Israeli forces withdraw from the enclave.
