Trump Campaigns in Ohio and Texas Ahead of November Election

President Donald Trump is rallying support for Republican candidates in Ohio and Texas as the Ohio governor's race enters a statistical dead heat.

President Donald Trump is conducting campaign stops in Ohio and Texas to support Republican candidates ahead of the November 3 election. In Texas, Trump campaigned for Attorney General Ken Paxton. In Ohio, he held a rally at the Shoemaker Center to boost Republican Senate candidate Jon Husted and gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.

The Ohio governor's race between Ramaswamy and Democrat Amy Acton remains a statistical dead heat. A NetChoice poll shows Ramaswamy leading 47% to 45%, while a poll by the super PAC A Fight Worth Having places Acton ahead 48.2% to 43.8%. While Ramaswamy has focused on the Second Amendment and data center development, Acton has campaigned alongside Senate candidate Sherrod Brown in Cincinnati.

The campaign has turned contentious following a Ramaswamy advertisement featuring Acton's estranged mother. Trump defended the tactic, stating Acton's mother is "fair game." Acton responded by describing her mother and stepfather as fugitives who skipped town after being indicted when she was 12 years old. Meanwhile, a NetChoice poll indicates 70% support for State Issue 3, a proposed constitutional amendment requiring photo ID for voting in Ohio.
