Kremlin Accuses Europe of Indecision Over Ukraine Security Talks
Dmitry Peskov criticized European nations for failing to appoint a representative for future negotiations on a Ukraine settlement and European security architecture.
The Federal Government of Russia accused European nations on Friday of failing to determine who would represent the continent in future negotiations regarding a potential Ukraine settlement and a broader European security architecture.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that while European involvement is necessary for mutual security guarantees between Russia and Ukraine, the Europeans have shown "prolonged indecision and an unwillingness" to designate a representative or propose specific ideas. Peskov noted that Russia has not received any ideas from European partners.
This criticism follows a recent meeting in Brussels between the United States, Ukraine, NATO, and European partners. The tension arrives as U.S. President Donald Trump has mentioned the possibility of a "big agreement" that could involve all of Europe.
