Donald Trump Gifts Bald Eagle Statue to Xi Jinping

Donald Trump presented a bald eagle statue to Chinese leader Xi Jinping during a state dinner at the White House on Thursday night. Trump described the statue as a national symbol of the United States and an embodiment of the "free and soaring spirit of America."

In exchange for the statue, Xi Jinping gave the United States two living pandas. The exchange follows a recurring pattern in Trump's second term, as he has previously gifted bald eagle figurines or statues to Scotland's First Minister John Swinney and Poland's President Karol Nawrocki. Trump also reportedly planned a similar gift for Russian President Vladimir Putin during a summit in Alaska.
