U.S. Military Develops MOAB Strike Plans for Iran
President Donald Trump ordered the military to prepare strike plans using the MOAB bomb against Iranian nuclear and energy sites.
The United States military has developed strike plans targeting Iranian energy infrastructure and nuclear facilities, including the fortified Pickaxe Mountain site. These plans include the potential use of the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb, a 21,600-pound non-nuclear weapon known as the mother of all bombs. While some officials question the weapon's effectiveness against deep underground facilities, others view it as a psychological tool.
President Donald Trump stated he will not resume strikes before the November 3 midterm elections. He recently claimed that Iranian military capabilities are decimated and that the war will end "very soon."
In response, Iran is strengthening defenses around its sensitive sites. The Iranian Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, stated that Tehran will use military and strategic leverage to force the U.S. to lift sanctions and withdraw forces from the region. Simultaneously, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Research and Self-Sufficiency Jihad Organization has targeted commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, where two vessels recently sank and the container ship MSC Francesca was seized.
