Trump Conditions Saudi Nuclear Deal on Abraham Accords

Donald Trump conditioned the approval of a civil nuclear agreement between the U.S. Department of Energy and Saudi Arabia on the Kingdom joining the Abraham Accords. The President stated that any such deal prohibits uranium enrichment on Saudi soil.

Simultaneously, Trump issued warnings via Truth Social to Iran and its Houthi proxies following recent strikes on two Saudi vessels in the Red Sea. He declared that further attacks on shipping would result in major military punishment for both Iran and the Houthis, characterizing the group as a surrogate of Iran.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu supported the push for Saudi Arabia to join the Abraham Accords, and the French Foreign Ministry condemned the Houthi attacks. On the ABC program The View, co-host Joy Behar accused Trump of accepting bribes to allow Saudi Arabia to develop nuclear weapons, while moderator Whoopi Goldberg urged viewers to vote for candidates who oppose the President in November.
