Meanwhile, India is pursuing rapprochement with China, with plans to resume direct flights and potentially ease investment rules for Chinese firms.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo has denied any link between the U.S. tariff threats and Mexico's internal security operations against organized crime. Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for international unity to oppose the current trend of unilateralism and protectionism.
