Ukraine and Russia Exchange Reciprocal Deep-Strike Attacks

Russia and Ukraine conducted reciprocal deep-strike attacks on July 24, 2026, resulting in at least eight deaths, including a three-year-old child. Volodymyr Zelenskyy defended a targeted Ukrainian campaign against logistics networks, which struck at least nine warehouses belonging to the e-commerce company Wildberries across sites from southern Russia to St Petersburg. The strikes caused an estimated 170 billion roubles in merchandise losses, primarily affecting independent merchants.

Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian forces targeted "major logistics facilities" used to transport sanctioned drone components. These attacks killed four people across the Voronezh, Belgorod, and Crimea regions. In Voronezh, a drone strike on a home killed a child.

Simultaneously, Russian forces attacked Ukraine, killing three people at a food business in Pavlohrad and one person in the Sumy region. While Vladimir Putin claimed the Russian economy remains stable despite external attempts to destabilize key sectors, analysts suggest the targeted strikes on Wildberries aim to erode the sense of normality for urban Russian populations.
