Ukraine Strikes Russian Missile Plant as Energy Grid Suffers
Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced strikes on a Russian missile production facility while urging allies for more Patriot missiles following Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukrainian forces struck the Kamensky Combine, a Russian defense industry facility involved in missile production in the Rostov region. The operation, carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine and other Defence Forces units, also destroyed a Pantsir-S2 system and an S-400 Triumf command and staff vehicle. Zelenskyy estimated the total value of the damaged air defense assets at approximately $70 million.
These strikes occurred as Russia targeted energy infrastructure in the Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, and Khmelnytskyi regions, leaving hundreds of thousands of families without power. Zelenskyy reported that Russia launched 1,940 drones, over 1,580 guided bombs, and 44 missiles over the past week. In response to the escalation, he urged international partners to expedite the delivery of Patriot missiles.
Amid the ongoing hostilities, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov stated that President Vladimir Putin has never refused to hold talks with Zelenskyy.
